What is On Your Feet?
On Your Feet Foundation of Northern California is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping birth mothers of adopted children and honoring their loving decision to place their babies for adoption. We want birth mothers to know and trust that we care about them after the placement of their child.
How We Provide Assistance – Our Mission
Our goal is to assist birth mothers in achieving the personal and financial independence they need to take care of themselves and their families by creating opportunities to find their footing after placing a baby for adoption.
This can include:
- Birthmother Networking through activities and gatherings
- Counseling and Mentoring
- Financial grants and assistance toward educational and career programs

The weekend retreat was life changing for me. It was the first time in 4 years (since I placed my daughter for adoption) that I could talk openly about my experience with people who totally understood my feelings.

Not feeling alone is a really big thing. While I’m talking to another birth mom, I’m not a birth mom. I’m a mom. We don’t have to put a title on it. I can say ‘Oh, my son did this or my daughter did this.’ I can just be a mom…There are no stipulations on it, there’s no stigma. We can just be moms.
